| UCPI, Société pour l'Utilisation des Plâtres et des Céramiques dans l'Industrie", has been devoted since 1969 to precision foundry, to the manufacturing method of precision foundry moulds and more particularly to their component materials. UCPI is familiar with moulding processes and develops new ones. UCPI monitors their evolution all over the world and offers to the founders all the ceramics and refractories required to make foundry moulds. In fact, UCPI solves all problems of dimensional tolerances, complexity of castings, surface finishing or even mould/metal reactions when the use of sand in conventional foundry is not acceptable . UCPI replaces the quartz sand moulds by ceramic shells or plaster block-moulds or refractory blocks. UCPI constantly searches for new products in the field of refractory ceramics and plasters for use in precision foundry moulds. UCPI is not only a supplier of raw-materials, but can as well implement for clients mouldings processes, or study if required the modification of an existing process or the modification of a mould formula. Specialist in precision foundry, UCPI is interested into lost wax processes in all their forms, industrial applications, in the artistic and decorative fields, and applications in glass or in dental work. |
Alongside its activities in precision foundry, UCPI has also taken advantage of its know-how in "ceramics and materials", "ceramics and liquid metal" in order to develop a range of refractory castables able to withstand liquid aluminium corrosion. These castables are used to line furnaces and ladles in the Aluminium Industry. Other products requiring experience in the handling and moulding of ceramics, plasters and cements have been perfected and are a part of UCPI's sales programme, for example, a range of plasters-based and cements-based products for the production of ornamental mouldings. Finally, UCPI runs an experimental precision foundry which produces pieces using the lost wax block mould foundry process.
